What brand CB antenna do i have? Its 36" tall, magnetic base, & has a model # of 09A06?
I have a CB antenna thats 36" tall, has a magnetic base, & has the number 09A06 on it & i dont know what brand or how good of an antenna it is?? I just ordered a $100 CB radio & so i need a good antenna & this was given to me by a friend 3 yrs ago! Anyone??
Ok so its most likely an older model antenna from radio shack & probably sucks in comparison to a Firestik moble CB antenna. So based on a "moble" antenna design, which would you prefer OR choose "within reason" of use by a brand new uniden model #PC68LTW

The best antenna is a 1/4wave whip (108 inches = 102 whip with a 6 inch spring).
when you start to shorten antennas, you build in inefficiency. By adding 1/8th wave sections (a 5/8th wave) you lower the angle of radiation and you want to do that with a fixed station, never a mobile station.
